Isaac Akinwumi is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering and the Coordinator, Research at the Covenant University Centre for Research, Innovation and Discovery. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering from Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria.
His research works/interests are in the areas of Environmental Engineering (water, sanitation and hygiene; waste management; marine plastic pollution; and pollution prevention), sustainable construction materials and Geotechnical Engineering (soil improvement, landfill lining and groundwater protection). He is an author/co-author of over 70 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
He is an Affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences, the Financial Secretary of the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA), a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
