BIO
Dr Alireza Moghayedi is a Frontiers Champion, senior research officer, founder and co-director of Sustainability oriented + Cyber Unit for Built Environment (S+CUBE) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His research focuses on developing resilient, inclusive and sustainable solutions for engineering and built environment infrastructure projects using innovative cyber technologies. He holds a PhD in Construction Economics and Management, MS in Civil Engineering major in Transportation, MS in Construction Management and BS in Civil Engineering. Dr Moghayedi has held various positions in a government agency, engineering consultancy, contracting and developing firms across the globe.
Dr Moghayedi enjoys working collaboratively within a team environment together with the challenge of carrying through individual tasks. In last year only, he has established six international collaboration projects focusing on enhancing the living condition of the marginalised population in Africa through inclusive, sustainable and innovative infrastructures and communities’ developments. Dr Moghayedi is passionate about equipping young people to excel in the field of engineering and built environment and a thinker and developer of tangible solutions for real-world problems through innovative fundamental and applied research.
