BIO
Lakshmi is an architect and urbanist. Lakshmi has cross-cutting expertise in inclusive and resilient urbanism, health and wellbeing and critical social and digital media. Her past and current research advances theoretical and empirical work on how socio-spatial practices in city-making creates exclusionary landscapes of sustainable development in the Global South. She is currently a Senior Research Fellow in Future Cities at the School of Engineering and Built Environment (EBE), Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). In her present role, she co-ordinates Future Cities Research Network (FCRN) which, aims to investigate and generate best practice and policy-relevant evidence to understand and effectively respond to the complex urban challenges for sustainable and resilient urban futures.
